Back on the Mainland...

Well, we are back from our trip and finally adjusted to the 2 hour difference. It is truly amazing how only a few hours time change can really alter the the kiddos' schedules. Both kids were going to bed after 9:30 pm for most of this past week and they are sleeping in too!

The great thing about our trip to Maui was that the kids did great on the flights and the condo we stayed at was perfect for our family. We stayed at the Napili Point Resort with a wonderful view of the ocean and a downstairs unit so the kids had a little backyard! Reece immediately loved our new place because he could go in and out as he pleased. The beach was right around the corner from our place so it really only took us a few minutes to get there. We could head to the pool from our slider and snorkel in the cove right below our condo. The other amazing thing about Hawaii during this time of the year are the whales. They are breaching right off of the coast and we could see them at the beach, from our condo, and pretty much along the entire west side of Maui. We spent most days at the beach, but did go up to the Haleakala Crater, the Maui Ocean Center, and walked around Lahaina. We were truly spoiled by our vacation and would love to go back to Napili soon!

Alauna Update:
Our daughter was out of preschool for 10 days, but was back at the routine this week. Her friend, Little Cody from next door, also started this past week so now she has another close friend at her school.

Alauna was an easy traveler with her time being occupied by Barbie movies, Barbie coloring books, Barbies, and food! She absolutely loved playing in the ocean and jumping into the waves. She also had a great time at the Ocean Center and carried her fish I.D card throughout the entire place matching the fish. She spent each day playing Barbies with Grandma and swimming with her Daddy.

Reece Update:
Reece was a busy little bee on our trip. Thankfully we were upgraded to economy plus on the way over so there was a ton of leg room for Reece to jump around in. We weren't so lucky on the way home! He watched his favorite Baby Einstein movies on the plane and made friends with the people and kids sitting behind us.
Once we arrived, he had a blast just playing in the sand. We had a scare on the first day at the beach when he was knocked down by a small wave. He managed to roll over in the water and for that second he was under, his little eyes were open and looking up through the water. Very scary, so he stayed in our arms after that. He wasn't afraid, but we were!

Amber and Cody update:
We've been keeping up on running as best we can. We ran up to Kapalua one morning and are trying to continue to go a few days a week. Cody received a GPS Forerunner for his birthday which monitors how fast he is going, distance, and heart-rate. It's a great gadget for a runner! We're thinking about doing Foggy Bottoms in about a week. The weather has been pretty rainy so we've had to get out during breaks, but we are both committed to continue running!!

Absolutely Adorable! I want to go to Hawaii! I think your kids have been there more times than I have! I particularly like Cody's black socks with the shorts
