We decided to try something new in an attempt to advance our page technologically. There were some flaws with our web page and really it was only able to take us so far. Sooo here we go. . .
Thompson Family Update
By some chance of the snow gods, we actually saw white stuff fall from the sky over the weekend. Alauna walked out in it, but wasn't very impressed. Unfortunately, it didn't stick and by morning all that we had was a thin layer of hail. Alauna enjoyed her third birthday party over the weekend as well. On Saturday, we had around 10 kids and their parents bobbing around in the Arcata Pool. Yes, a pool party in January. We pulled it off thanks to the indoor pool. The theme was luau and we had a blast! She loved the water and had a great time with her friends. Her real birthday was the 31st and we celebrated it with our close family. Alauna is at that crazy independent 3 year old age. 3's are a lot of fun, but so moody and bossy! We are beginning to play board games with her which, when timed right, is very cute. She is still all over her brother: kissing his hands, touching his toes, and getting in his face. He loves it... for the most part! We took her to the doc for her 3 year check-up and after 3 years, she is in the 50th percentile in weight and height. She is 3 feet tall and 30 pounds!
Reece is now over a month into eating and feeding him is so funny. He makes the best faces when any new foods come his way. We are trying a new food every 4-5 days and look forward to an even wider variety of 7 month old foods. He loves yogurt and bananas, and eats avocado, butternut squash, pears, mango, applesauce, sweet potatoes, and baby cereals. He is close to sitting up, but is so active he reaches for things and flops over. Reece likes to roll over and is starting to scoot on his tummy. He is busy, busy, busy. He is finally taking naps, but is up every 3 hours at night. At his appointment a few weeks ago, he was 15 pounds, and 26 1/2 in. in length- a little guy!
Our next big adventure begins in a few short weeks when we attempt an airplane trip to Albuquerque with our 2 rugrats. We are looking forward to meeting our new family member, Rachael Thompson, as well as getting all of the Thompson kids together again. We'll be out there for 5 days visiting with Cody's brother and family. We hope for a smooth trip!
