OK, it has definitely been a long time since a post and I'm sure half the e-mail addresses we send this to have been deleted or changed, but if not we really want to say hello to everyone out there and let you know that we are still alive and well. We hope that you are having a wonderful summer and are enjoying it to its full capacity. This blog has been out of commission for too long so we're bringing it back for an encore presentation. Also, we have a new author and designer of the blog. Cody is now the author/designer so if it sucks hard and the lame humor makes you snore, my apologies ahead of time. So without further hesitation(if you're conscious)...let's begin.
The Thompson's have been busy this summer at work, play, and well work mostly. Reece and Alauna have been going to preschool 2 full days a week together and are doing really well there. Reece is not going to be happy when Alauna has to start kindergarten on August 30th. Alauna is really excited about going to her new school and she has many friends that either go to the school already or will be starting school with her.
Alauna is still into barbies and playing dolls, but at the same time she loves to get dirty, make big messes, wrestle with her brother, pick up toads, worms, moths, and anything that moves. Alauna loves dressing up and helping mom bake and especially likes eating the baked goods. She loves candy, ice cream, and sweets. She really is a wonderful little girl and has grown up so fast.
Reece is our little man. He might be small, but he is super fast and packs a punch(not literally). Reece is a fan of anything truck. This includes construction equipment, tractors, airplanes, fire trucks, and trains. He loves playing with his Geotrax set and riding his tricycle. He just turned 3 years old and is quite the talker and has a super funny sense of humor.
Onto the adults(I'll keep this short). Amber is working part time for a candidate that is running for a county supervisor position. Working in local politics in Humboldt County has been a real eye opening experience, but she enjoys it for the most part.
I am still working at a hospital supporting a fleet of some 500+ pieces of office equipment. This will be my 6th year in this position and I'm still very happy with the job. I can't believe it's been almost 6 years since we moved back to Humboldt!!
Amber and I are still running and racing. We've been running for a year and half non stop- 3-5 days a week. Our next race is August 15th which is a half marathon. We are both trying to train for it, but I don't think either of us is ready for 13.1 agonizing miles!! If you would like to see more on our running and how we've been doing check out the link.

We also recently purchased a double kayak. All 4 of us can fit into it(relatively comfortably) and we love kayaking in the handful of nearby lagoons. The kids really enjoy it too and sometimes insist that we go out. We still haven't tried Humboldt Bay or the river, but we will in due time. It's a great workout and a fun way to get close-up to nature.
In closing, we hope that you are doing great. If we have not done a good job of staying in touch with you we apologize. Sometimes we get so caught up in life that it's difficult to touch base with those that matter the most. Just know that we are thinking about you and would like to hear about how you are doing too. Take care and hopefully we'll talk to you soon.
Love-The Thompsons
